Child Care Support Services of the Family Center of Washington County is a Child Care Aware quality assured consumer education and referral service. We offer a free and confidential referral program for registered child care homes and licensed child care centers. Our Child Care Referral Specialist provides families with information on

Referrals for child care in Washington County include information on how to contact providers and includes information highlighting
- daily schedules
- philosophies
- and descriptions of the care environment
It is important to remember that these referrals are not recommendations, and families are strongly encouraged to visit providers multiple times to determine the best fit for their child.
Families are invited to call (802) 262-3292 ext. 125 Monday thru Friday from 8:30am - 4:30pm or e-mail ruthb@fcwcvt.org. Walk-ins are welcome at any time and appointments can be arranged to meet individual family needs.
It is the intent of The Family Center of Washington County to provide accurate, appropriate and fair information; trainings and services for all families and child care providers. Occasionally a question, concern or disagreement may occur.

Vermont's Child Care Consumer Concern Line (1-800-540-7942) provides toll free access for parents and the public to learn of any regulatory violations noted in any Vermont registered or licensed child care. This resource line also allows anyone to call to discuss concerns about children in child care, and to report complaints using a confidential, statewide system.

The Bright Futures Child Care Information System is the place for parents and child care providers to get information about child care, early education, school age care, and the services available to help ensure that high quality child care is available to every child in Vermont who needs it. Information is available about regulated registered and licensed child care programs in the State of Vermont. Families may search local child care options by selecting a town from a drop down menu. Additional resources posted include information on child care subsidy and an online application.

Help Paying for Child Care
(Child Care Financial Assistance Program)
Child Care Financial Assistance Specialists provide guidance and determine eligibility for Vermont's child care subsidy program, which assists low to middle income families with paying for child care. For more information call (802) 262-3292.

Support Services for Child Care Providers
Training and Support
Child Care Trainers provide support through phone calls, training, visits, newsletters, a lending library of materials and resources for area child care providers. Technical assistance is available for individuals interested in becoming child care providers. Staff offers specialized support to the leaders of the seven area provider groups.
